10.-12.7.Con Hotel
The Con Hotel for Finncon/Animecon is Holiday Inn Helsinki City West, just a few hundred meters away from the Cable Factory.
Finncon attendees can reserve a standard double or single room between 8th and 12th of July for an extremely competitive price of only 70€ per night. The link below will take you straight to the English-language reservation system, where you can choose the dates and room type, and the price will automatically be the Finncon convention rate. The offer closes on 24th June, or when all the rooms in the block have been reserved.
If you want to stay in Finland for longer or arrive early, you can reserve a room at the same con prize for nights before or after the con using the same reservation link. However these nights are not part of our pre-reserved quota, so we cannot guarantee availability.
Other hotel options
As Ruoholahti and the Cable Factory are easily accessible by metro, tram and bus, practically all hotels in city centre are an option. The Helsinki Tourist Bureau site allows you to search for accommodation suitable to your needs.
Hostels
Hostel accommodation is a good choice especially if more than two are sharing a room. The closest hostels to our con site are Hostel Academica and Hostel Satakuntalo. Both are student dorms that function as hostels during the summer, and both are under two kilometers walk away from the con site.
Floor accommodation
The con will offer cheap floor accommodation on the con site for a limited number of people. More information on the terms and where to sign up will be announced later. The gophers will be given priority.
Use the journey planner
The Municipal public transportation Journey Planner is a great tool when you try find accommodation best suited to your needs. Just type in the address of your prospective hotel on the "from" field, and Kaapelitehdas to the "to" field, and it will show you how to get from there to the con site. The Advanced search option even gives you a walking route.
